The boiler is contaminated with water containing too much limescale or salt.
Start a descaling process. To do this, press the button (Descale) for a few seconds.
If the indicator light (Empty residual water drawer) lights up:
Adjust the steam ironing system to its highest working height.
Remove the residual water drawer.
Empty the residual water drawer and then put it back into place.
If the indicator light (Water container empty) lights up:
Remove the water container.
Fill the water container with fresh water up the descaling marking (approx. 25–35°C).
Add one Miele descaling tablet to the water container.
Reinsert the water container.
If the (Water container empty) and (Empty residual water drawer) indicators light up:
Remove the water container.
Fill the water container up to the level marking with fresh water.
Put the water container back in place.
Remove and empty the residual water drawer.
Reinsert the residual water drawer.
If the indicator light (Empty residual water drawer) lights up again:
Remove and empty the residual water drawer.
Rinse out the residual water drawer thoroughly and dry it.
Reinsert the residual water drawer.
After the appliance is switched off automatically, you can switch on the steam ironing system again and use it as usual.
