Coffee machine only dispenses water (countertop appliances)

The coffee machine only dispenses water (countertop appliances).

Sticky or twisted coffee beans have not slid into the grinder and have caused a blockage.

The sensor for detecting the fill level of the bean container is blocked and is registering that the bean container is full.

Clean the coffee bean containers more often if you are using darker, more oily coffee beans.

Try other types of coffee bean which are less oily.

Use a coffee type with smaller or more evenly sized coffee beans.

Running grinder.

Risk of injury due to sharp edges.

If you place a spoon or similar, or even fingers, in the bean containers during grinding, you could be injured. Do not reach into the bean system during grinding.

Do not place any objects in the bean containers during grinding.

Release twisted beans from the grinder. To do so, proceed as follows:

  • Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

  • Place a narrow spoon or similar in the bean containers to stir the coffee beans.

If the problem occurs frequently, try using a less oily type of beans.

The fill level sensors in the bean containers are dirty.

The bean containers are empty and the message Fill bean container does not appear.

Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

Clean the sensors in the bean container as follows:

  • Remove the coffee beans from the bean containers, e.g., with a vacuum cleaner.

  • Clean the fill level sensors with a soft, dry cloth.

The coffee grinder channel is blocked.

In order to remove coffee residues properly from the coffee grinder channel, vacuum out the ground coffee chute once a year with the vacuum cleaner attachment supplied.

Clean the ground coffee chute as follows:

  • Open the appliance door and remove the ground coffee drawer.

  • Insert the vacuum cleaner attachment. Use the suction wand of your vacuum cleaner to vacuum out the ground coffee chute.

  • Remove the attachment and reinstall the ground coffee drawer.

  • Close the appliance door.
