Drawer not responding

The Gourmet warming drawer cannot be operated.

ESW 5XXX: The Gourmet warming drawer is not ready to use immediately. After opening the Gourmet warming drawer, the electronic module adjusts to the ambient light within 3 seconds. The appliance can only be operated when the Gourmet warming drawer has been pulled out for longer than 3 seconds.

Pull out the Gourmet warming drawer.

Wait at least 3 seconds.

If the appliance still cannot be operated after waiting 5 seconds, contact Miele Service or book a repair appointment directly online.

The Gourmet warming drawer is connected to the coffee machine. CVA mode enables the Gourmet warming drawer to be operated via the socket of a coffee machine. If a switch-on time has been programmed for the coffee machine, the Gourmet warming drawer is switched on automatically 30 minutes beforehand.

If CVA mode is activated on the Gourmet warming drawer, the following functions are deactivated:

  • operating mode

  • operating time

  • safety shut-off

To deactivate CVA mode on the Gourmet warming drawer, switch it off using the  On/Off sensor control.

Touch the time display sensor control .

Then touch the On/Off sensor control .

Continue to touch both sensor controls until all symbols have gone out.
