The plinth filters are soiled.

Check and clean the plinth filter as follows:

The access panel will spring open.

  • Pulling out the plinth filter by the handle | Cleaning and care | Miele tumble dryer
  • Pull the plinth filter out by the handle.

The right-hand guide pin comes out when the plinth filter is removed. The guide pin prevents the access panel from closing without the plinth filter.

  • Pulling the plinth filter out of the handle | Cleaning and care | Miele tumble dryer
  • Pull the handle out of the plinth filter.

  • Clean the plinth filter carefully and thoroughly under running water.

  • Running a water jet vertically over the front of the plinth filter | Cleaning and care | Miele tumble dryer
  • To speed up the removal of residue from the surface, run a water jet vertically over the front of the plinth filter.

  • Squeeze the plinth filter very carefully several times as you rinse it.

  • Rinse the entire plinth filter thoroughly until all visible residue has been removed.

  • Continue to carefully squeeze the plinth filter until all of the water has been removed.

  • To soak up water, place the damp plinth filter between 2 hand towels. On a flat surface, repeatedly press down gently on the plinth filter with a flat hand. This will dry the plinth filter more quickly.

  • The plinth filter must not be installed dripping wet.

Otherwise, this could cause a fault.

Carefully squeeze the water out of the plinth filter.

  • If a drying program is interrupted with a fault message after the clean plinth filter has been installed, the plinth filter was too wet when it was installed. Carefully squeeze the water out of the plinth filter again. Leave the plinth filter to air-dry.

  • Blockages caused by a damaged or worn plinth filter.

The heat exchanger becomes blocked and damage may occur.

  • Use a damp cloth to remove any lint from the handle.

  • Attaching the plinth filter to the handle | Cleaning and care | Miele tumble dryer
  • Install the plinth filter back on the handle. Make sure it is the correct way round.

  • Extracting lint and residues from the heat exchanger | Cleaning and care | Miele tumble dryer
  • Risk of injury from sharp cooling fins.

    You could cut yourself.

Do not touch the cooling fins with your hands.

  • Look to see if lint has accumulated on the heat exchanger.

  • Remove any lint you can see.

  • Damage due to incorrect cleaning of the heat exchanger.

The tumble dryer will not dry if the cooling fins are damaged or bent.

Clean using a vacuum cleaner with a dust brush attached. Only pass the vacuum cleaner dust brush over the heat exchanger fins lightly, without applying any pressure.

  • Vacuum up any lint and residues.

  • Inserting the plinth filter into the tumble dryer | Cleaning and care | Miele tumble dryer
  • Push the plinth filter in completely.

This will push in the right-hand guide pin at the same time.

  • Close the heat exchanger access panel.
