The oven cavity is dirty.
Remove normal soiling immediately using a clean sponge with warm water and liquid dish soap applied with a clean, damp microfiber cloth.
After cleaning, ensure that any detergent residue is removed with clean water.
This is particularly important when cleaning surfaces treated with PerfectClean enamel as detergent residue can impair the non-stick properties.
After cleaning, dry the surfaces with a soft cloth.
Baked-on deposits can be removed with a glass scraper or with a nonabrasive steel wool pad, warm water and liquid dish soap.
Run a Self-Clean program:
Remove everything from the oven cavity except the shelf runners.
Remove any coarse soiling from the oven cavity (otherwise, it can smoke and cause the Self-Clean program to turn itself off).
Select Clean (Self-Clean).
PY 1 will flash in the display.Use the left and right arrows under the display to select PY 1, PY 2 or PY 3.
Confirm with OK.
The lock symbol will be displayed, indicating that the Self-Clean program has started.
When the Self-Clean program has finished, 0:00, the lock symbol and the “cooking time” symbol will be displayed.
Once the appliance has cooled down sufficiently for the door to be opened safely, the lock symbol will go out and the “cooking time” symbol will flash.
Turn the mode selector to Off.
Open the door.
Wipe any residue (e.g., ash) left behind after the Self-Clean program out of the oven cavity and off of any accessories.
The amount of ash will vary depending on how dirty the oven was.
