Cooking zone switches on/off automatically

The heating element of a cooking zone switches on and off when the highest power level is selected.

Overheating protection has been triggered.

The overheating protection may be activated under the following circumstances:

  • The cookware being heated is empty.

  • Fat or oil is being heated on a high power level.

  • Insufficient ventilation to the underside of the cooktop.

  • A hot cooking zone is turned back on after a power outage.

Allow the cooktop to cool down.

Rectify the causes of the overheating.

Check that the cooktop works.

If the problem occurs again, contact Miele Service.

No cookware has been placed on the cooking zone (induction).

Place a suitable type of cookware on the cooking zone if you want to be able to use it.

There is nothing inside the cookware (induction).

Fill the cookware with something to cook.

The base of the cookware is not sitting evenly on the cooking zone (induction).

In this case, the heat is not guaranteed to be transferred from the cooking zone to the dishware in the optimum manner. Check the base of your cookware for dents and bumps (e.g., with a ruler). Alternatively, turn the cooking zone power down by 1 or 2 levels.

The cookware is not conducting heat properly.

Turn the cooking zone power down by 1 or 2 levels.
