Fault F233 (built-in appliance)

Fault F233 appears on the coffee machine display (built-in appliance).

The cup rim sensor is soiled.

The cup rim sensor is located under the central spout. Clean the cup rim sensor at least once a week and more often if heavily soiled.

Proceed as follows to clean the cup rim sensor:

  • Pressing | Cup rim sensor latches | Coffee machine
  • Press the two latches together; see figure. The cup rim sensor is released.

  • Clean the cup rim sensor in the dishwasher or by hand using warm water and a little liquid dish soap.

  • To reinstall the cup rim sensor, press it into the holder on the central spout from below.

The cup rim sensor is not inserted or is incorrectly inserted.

Install the cup rim sensor correctly. If the central spout is moving upward and the cup rim sensor is bumped, e.g., with a cup, the cup rim sensor loses its reference position.

  • Press the OK button to acknowledge the message.

  • Reinstall the cup rim sensor.

Cup rim detection remains inactive and the central spout stays in the top position until the coffee machine is next switched on. Cup rim detection is reinitialized during the next switch-on operation.

The container is positioned too far back.

Position the container so that the sensor can detect the rim.

The container has a very wide opening that prevents the cup rim sensor from making contact with the edge of the container (e.g., in the case of a very large cup).

Use a different container or position the existing one so that the sensor can detect the rim.

There is a spoon in the container.

Position a container that is tall enough and does not have a spoon in it so that the container is touching the cup rim sensor.

The container is not tall enough.

Use a taller container.

The lid of the drip tray is not positioned correctly.

Assemble the drip tray correctly.

The angular molded hose and the longer milk pipework are connected. Start by attaching the angular molded hose to the top of the central spout. The black connecting piece should be pointing to the rear .

Connect the bottom end of the molded hose to the dispensing unit .

Insert the milk pipework into the milk valve on the left and right-hand sides  and . Push the connecting pieces into the silicone seal as far as they will go.

Check that the milk pipework is snug against the housing and that the cover can be easily attached.

Turning | Milk pipework on right of milk valve | Coffee machine

If necessary, turn the milk pipework toward the back at the connecting piece on the right-hand side of the milk valve.

The stainless steel cover for the central spout is not inserted correctly.

Inserting | Stainless steel cover for central spout | Coffee machine

Insert the central spout cover correctly.

The emergency release for the central spout has been triggered. The spout is no longer clipped into place.

Press the central spout up slightly.

If the central spout can be moved up, this means the spout is not clipped into place.

Take hold of the central spout at the side and pull the spout down with force.

The central spout audibly clips back into place. The emergency release is revoked.
