Empty drip tray appears on the coffee machine display during the descaling process even though the drip tray has already been emptied several times.
Please note that you must not add more than 0.5 l of water into the water container to dissolve the descaler. Otherwise, the descaling solution will be too thin and limescale deposits may form on the appliance. In addition, faults may occur if the descaler solution flowing through the appliance is not measured properly.
Clean the contacts, proceeding as follows:
Push the central spout up as far as it will go. Pull the drip tray carefully out of the coffee machine; see Fig. 1.
Empty the drip tray into the sink. Empty the grounds container into the organic waste bin or compost; see Fig. 2.
Clean the drip tray using a mild solution of warm water and liquid dish soap. Make sure to clean particularly thoroughly between the contacts at the rear of the drip tray; see Fig. 3.
Dry the drip tray fully and insert it back into the appliance.
