Degrease brew unit does not start

The Degrease brew unit maintenance program does not start on the coffee machine. On completion of the steps, the following message remains visible on the display: Remove water container and brew unit. Clean the inside of the appliance. Rinse the brew unit manually and install it with a tablet in it. The maintenance program does not continue.

The steps for removing and reinstalling the drip tray have not been carried out in the correct order.

If you remove the drip tray, you must proceed in the following order for both removal and reinstalling:

  1. Remove the water container.

  2. Remove the brew unit.

  3. Remove the drip tray.

  4. Reinstall the drip tray.

  5. Install the brew unit with a tablet in it.

  6. Install the water container.
