A regional primary health care hospital

The Marienstift hospital in Brunswick was built in 1883 in front of the gates of the burgeoning city. Nowadays the hospital has 163 beds. With several clinics and efficient supply and service areas it is an essential pillar in the medical primary health care provision for the city and the region. Almost 10,000 people are treated here annually as inpatients and outpatients. The hospital has set itself a challenging mission statement: Patient services are seen as a holistic process and are always oriented towards the dignity of the individual. The Evangelical foundation, which is steeped in tradition, employs a staff of 670 and also includes a care home for 261 people, several training sites and service facilities as well as the Sisters' house and the Theodor-Fliedner church. Germany's most modern CSSD was formally opened on 23 April 2012. Following the start of regular operations, the Marienstift today has a state-of-the-art central sterilisation unit which was designed and realised holistically by Miele Professional within the framework of System4Med. The new system operates particularly reliably and economically, in addition, it has sufficient performance capacity reserves for a future expansion in their theatre services.
