Calculate The Impact Of Garment Production On Your Household Water Footprint

    water crisis, water waste

Calculate the impact of garment production on your household water footprint

The average person in the United States uses anywhere from 80-100 gallons of water per day. Your water footprint, however, extends far beyond the water you directly use at home. The total volume of fresh water used to produce the goods and services you consume, such as clothing, is an indirect contributor to your home's water footprint.

Here's how you can calculate your indirect utilization of water. Type the number of corresponding items you own into the column labeled "number in household." Total number is in gallons.
